How to report an outage

Our crews worked through the night to restore power to customers affected by yesterday’s severe winds.

By 2:30am, our crews had restored supply to all but a small number of customers. As of this morning just two small area outages remain, and we expect these to be resolved later today.

At the height of the storm, approximately 2600 customers were without power across the Wellington region, mainly in rural areas where trees were blown into high-voltage lines.

We’d like to thank customers for their patience and understanding while our crews worked in challenging conditions to restore power safely and as quickly as possible.

If you’re still without power and your outage isn’t shown on our website, please call your retailer so they can log your outage with us.

With another period of severe winds forecast for Monday, we’re again preparing our crews and reminding customers to prepare for the possibility of power outages, and remember to:

· Phone our emergency line on 0800 248 148 if you spot anything that might be an electrical hazard.

· Treat all electrical equipment as live at all times.

· Let your electricity retailer know if you experience a power cut and it's not shown on our outages page.

· Follow your emergency response plan and, if medically dependent, contact your health practitioner if an outage puts you at risk of harm.

· Call 111 if anyone is in danger or if there’s a serious risk to property.
