Expect power outages and remember to put safety first
We have a full roster of crews ready to respond across the Wellington region, with additional teams are on standby. If our electricity network is impacted, we'll do our best to get the power back on as quickly as we can.
Our first priority will be to attend faults that pose a safety risk, followed by restoring power to the largest affected areas. We’ll then work on smaller faults and individual properties.
We’ll be monitoring the network closely and will provide regular updates on our website, including all outages affecting more than 10 customers.
Make sure trampolines and other outdoor objects are secured for safety reasons, and to prevent them from damaging property and overhead electrical equipment.
Please also remember to:
Let your electricity retailer know if you experience a power cut and it's not shown on our outages page.
Phone our emergency line on 0800 248 148 if you spot anything you think might be an electrical hazard.
Treat all electrical equipment as live at all times.
Follow your emergency response plan if you're medically dependent, and contact your health practitioner if an outage puts you at risk of harm.
Call 111 if anyone's in danger or if there’s a fire or serious risk to property.
